On the Tuesday show, August 12, 2025, we began with the latest news and a look at the day’s headlines from online media and newspapers. Immediately after, we connected live with Sofia, Bulgaria, and spoke with Kalina Bliznashka, a modern Greek language teacher who teaches her fellow Bulgarians, whether they want to learn the language simply for their travels to Greece or because they are planning to relocate there. Ms. Bliznashka also shared with us her impressions from her recent trip to Lefkada.
In the second hour, we talked with journalist Themis Kallos, Director of the Greek Service of SBS Australia, who brought us news from the other side of the world and from the Greek diaspora, with a special focus on the hot topic currently dominating Australian public life: the government’s decision to recognize a Palestinian State.
In the final part of the program, we welcomed in the studio of Voice of Greece Andronikos Tsivleris, author and researcher on the folklore of old Greek cinema, on the occasion of the release of his book “Ξαναγράφοντας-ένα συγγραφικό παιχνίδι με τις διαχρονικές κωμωδίες”(“Rewriting – A Literary Game with Timeless Comedies”). We discussed his long-standing research on the history of Greek cinema, conducted with his collaborators, which is also being presented with great success on the YouTube channel, Kastalia. Our conversation touched upon old films, actors, events that shaped Greek cinema, and the immense work behind the videos that reveal unknown aspects of our beloved movies.
