On Thursday’s program, 12 March 2026, after the introduction covering the day’s current affairs and a review of the main headlines from online media and newspapers, we discussed the economic impact on Greece of the escalating war and the government measures addressing rising prices, with Ioanna Liouta, political and economic analyst.
We then turned to the event taking place on Friday, 13 March at 19:30, for the presentation of the collective volume “One Hundred and Twenty Voices.” The initiative is organized by the municipal faction “Let’s Change Piraeus for Everyone – Giorgos Gavrilis,” the Network of Women Writers Against Gender-Based Violence and Femicides “Her Voice,” and Kastaniotis Publications, in honor of International Women’s Day. Speaking on the program was Maria Tzardi, member of the municipal faction “Let’s Change Piraeus for Everyone – Giorgos Gavrilis” and of the Network of Women Writers Against Gender-Based Violence and Femicides “Her Voice.”
The first hour concluded with Ivana Djordjevic, who presented the international news.
During the second hour, we connected with Melbourne to speak with Giota Stavridou, a Greek teacher seconded from Greece to the Coordinating Office of Melbourne, on the occasion of the awards given by the Association of Modern Greek Teachers of Victoria to educators who keep the Greek language alive.
In the final part of the program, Metropolitan Gregory of Cameroon was a guest in the Voice of Greece studio. The discussion focused both on the situation in the countries under his pastoral responsibility in Africa, where the Metropolis is based, and on the current global reality and the role of the Church in efforts to de-escalate tensions.
