On the Thursday edition of the program, 27 November 2025, we spoke with ERT’s correspondent in Turkey, Pierros Tzanetakos, who is covering the historic visit of Pope Leo XIV to the neighbouring country. Immediately after reviewing the day’s online and print headlines, we talked with Eleni Tserezole, journalist at Avgi, about the latest developments in the war in Ukraine, following the presentation of Washington’s new 19-point proposal aimed at ending the conflict.
We then heard the interview given to Voice of Greece by Maira Myrogianni, General Secretary for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, from the venue where the 2nd Greek Youth Diaspora Symposium is taking place. This year, the Symposium brings together young Greeks of the 2nd and 3rd generation from 30 countries to exchange views on contemporary issues and to serve as ambassadors of Greek culture in their respective communities.
Ms. Myrogianni spoke about the Symposium’s purpose, the goals set by last year’s participants, the achievements they delivered during the past year as ambassadors of Hellenism, and the new aims emerging from this year’s gathering. She also referred to the issues that the young delegates themselves raise with the Greek state—representing their communities on matters such as Greek-language education abroad and the effort to reverse the brain drain that peaked during the years of the financial crisis.
Later in the program, during the second hour, we broadcast another interview recorded at the Symposium at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Centre on Piraeus Street. Efrosyni Vergitsi, a 17-year-old first-time participant, spoke about her anxieties, her dreams, and her ambitions—describing to Prokopis Agelopoulos her life journey from South Africa, where she was born, to the United States and Maryland, then to North Macedonia, while already planning her next step: studies in Western Europe.
Earlier in the morning, shortly after 11:00, the program welcomed to the studio Kostas Balachoutis, journalist and lyricist, on the occasion of the publication of his new book Stelios Kazantzidis: No One Can Erase Me. We discussed the legendary Greek singer of our popular repertoire—his story, his collaborations, his personal path, his disputes with record companies, and above all the immense love he earned from the public, unmatched by any other singer in Greece.
