Messolonghi is not just a city. It is an idea – a symbol of sacrifice, memory, and freedom that continues to breathe through time.
On Monday, 1 September, the Voice of Greece program “Wander Words” with Katerina Batzaki was dedicated to the Sacred City, highlighting three distinct aspects: its history, its culture, and its modern outward-looking character.
Guests on the program included:
- Michalis Kitsinelis, Director of the Valvios Municipal Library, who drew from memory and archives to bring forth the living traces of the Exodus.
- Symeon Konstantinopoulos, with long experience in the media and an active role in culture, who spoke about the quiet pulse of daily creativity.
- Lefteris Dakalakis, film director and producer with an international career, who presented Messolonghi as a meeting point between Greece and Europe.
Through words, memories, and music, the program showed that Messolonghi belongs not only to History, but also to the Future.
