Voice of Greece and the program “Wander Words” take us to one of the most enchanting and historic destinations of the country – Parga, the “Bride of Epirus.”
The program unfolds the identity of Parga – from the Venetian castle and the uprooting of 1819, to its narrow streets and mansions overlooking the Ionian, and from there to the festive customs and cultural events that keep tradition alive, with the help of distinguished guests:
Vaggelis Papadopoulos, philologist and historian, born and raised in Parga, passionately recounts the past and legends of the town.
Theofanis Skarpos, Deputy Mayor for Tourism & Culture, speaks about the balance between tourism and authenticity.
Nikos Zacharias, Mayor of Parga, presents his vision for the future and the challenges of the region.
