On Tuesday, October 11, the author, translator, and interpreter Aria Socratous was a guest in the studio of the “Voice of Greece“. The occasion for this meeting in the show “Faraway words” was her new book “The Tears of Silence“, which was transformed into a theatrical monologue with the help and performance of actress Paola Hadjilambri. This book is about the exploitation of women, the trafficking systems and their victims, a subject that the author, Ms. Socratous, has researched in depth. The play has already traveled to many parts of America, while a performance was also held in Athens at the Alhambra Theatre. Ms. Socratous spoke about the performance, the book, and her research, but also about her life… How exactly does a person decide to leave their homeland in search of a future? What makes it difficult for them and what difficulties did she encounter during that period of her life? The author also answered questions about her new life in America posed by Natasa Vissarionos and Giannis-Stelios Tzirvelakis.
