Dimitris Karkamanis is a former director of the Swedish Armed Forces and analyst at the Strategic Research Institute. He spoke on “Our Global Voice” on the Voice of Greece radio and Dimitris Kontogiannis about the long history of the Greek community in Stockholm and in Sweden in general and mainly the historical and other reasons that contributed to the decision for neutral Sweden to change its stance and wish to join NATO after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Mr. Karkamanis also referred to the ratification of the Scandinavian country’s accession to NATO by Hungary – the last country of the Alliance after Turkey that brought obstacles – and what was asked in exchange.
