The Friday, 17 July 2026 edition opened with a review of current affairs, including a tribute to the memory of beloved Greek actress Maro Kontou on the day family, friends, colleagues, and admirers bid her farewell. The program then examined the day’s newspaper and online headlines before turning to the escalating conflict in the Gulf, discussing its impact on global and domestic energy prices and the outlook for the world economy. Guest Charalambos Tsardanidis, Director of the Institute of International Economic Relations, offered his analysis of the latest developments.
At the beginning of the second hour, Ivana Djordjevic brought listeners up to date on the latest international and Balkan news. The program then welcomed Vyron Kotzamanis, Professor of Demography and Director of the Institute for Demographic Research and Studies, to discuss new research highlighting Greece’s demographic crisis. The conversation focused on the reported 44% decline in births in recent years, exploring both the underlying causes and possible policy responses.
The final part of the program, before the sports news with Tasos Antoninis, was devoted to music and two major summer festivals.
