Angeliki Kardara on “Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 04 Aug. 2026

The program “Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos welcomed Angeliki Kardara to the studio. Dr. Kardara is a scholar at the Department of Communication and Media Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), a philologist, and a Senior Scientific Associate and Scientific Director of the Crime & Media Lab at the Center for the Study of Crime (KEME).
She spoke about the issue of domestic violence, prompted by her book Crime & Woman.

In addition to being an educator and author, Dr. Kardara specializes in Medieval and Modern Greek philology and is professionally qualified to teach three foreign languages. Her doctoral dissertation, Prison and Language: The Linguistic Communication of Inmates as a Critical and Integral Element of Prison Structure, examined language use within prison communities.
She is also a lecturer, author, and trainer in criminology programs at the Center for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Dr. Kardara has extensive expertise in languages and in subjects related to the media and criminology, including criminal profiling, domestic violence, crimes involving minors as victims or offenders, school bullying, women and crime, and prisons. Her research focuses on the relationship between crime and the media.
