Albanian MP Evangelos Doules on “Our Global Voice” | 01 Sept. 2026

Evangelos Doules, a member of Albania’s parliament representing the Unity for Human Rights Party, spoke with Dimitris Kontogiannis on Voice of Greece’s “Our Global Voice” about the social and political situation in the neighboring country. He discussed corruption, ongoing demonstrations and opposition to a major tourism development planned by President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, in a protected natural area. He also addressed the local elections in spring 2027 and the Rama government’s efforts to redraw the country’s administrative boundaries to its advantage.

Asked about electoral participation, Doules highlighted the limited interest among ethnic Greeks from Albania living in Greece in elections in their hometowns, where they still have their family homes. Regarding relations between Greece and Albania, he said he believes organized groups within Albania are poisoning bilateral ties and that Prime Minister Rama wants to keep tensions between the two countries high.
