”Our Global Voice” with Petros Diplas and Dimitris Kontogiannis was joined once again by Anastasios Tamis, researcher and Emeritus Professor of Greek History from Melbourne, Australia, who continued the narration of Greek migration to China, focusing on the amazing story of Alexandros Paradisis on the show “Our Global Voice” with Petros Diplas and Dimitris Kontogiannis on the radio of Voice of Greece.
After Giorgos Paradisis, Mr. Tamis referred to his busy and multilingual brother Alexandros Paradisis, who set up a silk factory in Chefu, China, wrote in French and in his spare time attended law classes. Both in his mansion and in the factory, only the Greek flag was flying. When he was informed that Greece entered a war in 1912, he abandoned everything and came to fight and was wounded in the battle of Lachanas. However, he remained in Greece until 1914 when he returned to China. His two sons, Ilias and Stefanos, were studying in England when World War 2 was declared and rushed to join the Greek Navy.
