Christos Ktistakis, a second-generation expatriate from Zimbabwe, shared his insights into life in the southeastern African country on “Our Global Voice” with Dimitris Kontogiannis, broadcast on Voice of Greece radio.
He touched on the beauty of Victoria Falls, the hyperinflation crisis that led to the issuance of the famous 100 trillion Zimbabwean dollar banknote in 2009, and the resilience of the people navigating everyday challenges. He also discussed the growing presence of the Chinese community, which has resulted in Chinese becoming one of the foreign languages taught in schools.
After a prolonged drought, rains have finally returned to Zimbabwe, bringing relief to its residents. However, Ktistakis noted that the rains have also highlighted other issues, such as large potholes in the roads, which continue to cause significant problems.
