Faraway Words at Desmos Library in Paris

Founder and owner of the Greek “Desmos” bookstore in Paris Mr. Yiannis Mavroidakos was a guest from France in the studio of the “Voice of Greece” and he talked with Natasa Vissarionos on the occasion of the celebrations for the 40 years of operation in Paris and Athens.
Mr. Mavroidakos unfolded the history of the bookstore, which has been a meeting place for intellectuals and artists from Greece and France (Vassilis Alexakis, Roviros Manthoulis, Kostas Axelos, Aris Fakinos, Adonis Kyrou, Jacqueline de Romilly, etc.) over the last four decades.

At the same time, “Desmos” is a publishing house that has translated dozens of contemporary Greek writers, while there are galleries and Greek language lessons taking place.
