The show featured a phone interview with “Ms. Dynamite,” as the international press calls her, conductor and pianist Zoe Zeniodi. Speaking from Sydney, Australia, where she is “making history” as the first Greek woman to conduct at the Sydney Opera House, Zeniodi discussed her latest project. Under her baton, Opera Australia is presenting Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera “Così fan tutte” until August 17, 2024.
Zoe Zeniodi works as a conductor and pianist across America, Asia, and Europe, leading significant orchestras in iconic venues. Her life and career were the main subjects of the documentary “Maestra,” and she has many “firsts” to her name. She was the first woman to conduct at Opera Southwest in New Mexico, the first woman to open the season with the Buenos Aires Philharmonic at the famous “Teatro Colón,” and now the first Greek conductor to lead at the Sydney Opera House.
