Ioanna Papandreopoulou and Dimitris Dimitriadis from Geneva on “Faraway Words” | 29 Jan. 2025

The Voice of Greece studio welcomed two permanent residents of Switzerland, Ms. Ioanna Berthoud Papandreopoulou and Mr. Dimitris Dimitriadis, for a discussion from Geneva. The occasion for their conversation was the recent Greek publication of the bilingual (Greek-French) play “Ioannis Kapodistrias: Glory and Solitude”, released by To Donti editions. The play, authored by Ms. Papandreopoulou after 2.5 years of research, was presented on Monday, January 27, at a well-known bookstore in Athens. Notably, the book had already been published in Switzerland by a renowned publishing house.

The work was created in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence and was performed by the Greek Theatre of Geneva with a 20-member cast. The production, which featured alternating Greek and French surtitles, was met with great success in Switzerland, Corfu, Athens, and Patras.
