Our Town” tribute to Charles Aznavour | 12.11.2023

The great singer is described as the national voice of France and recognized as a charismatic, unique international artist who, together with Frank Sinatra, was considered the two leading singers in the world.

The show presents the many aspects of the Armenian-born actor (with his numerous accolades and collaborations with top names in the acting world), scriptwriter, poet, lyricist, composer, and one-of-a-kind, exceptionally masterful singer. Special reference is made to his turbulent life, the love he has received and given, his rare personality, his human sensitivities.

Songs performed by himself are heard on today’s show, as well as songs composed and performed by the following, among others: Bing Crosby, Ray Charles, Shirley Bassey, Fred Astaire, Liza Minnelli and others.

In 1998, Charles Aznavour was voted by Americans as “the artist of the century”. France, the country he lived in and was acclaimed in, he received the highest honors. Reference is made to his consistent and warm attitude and his significant assistance to his homeland of Armenia and its people.
