On the last business day of 2023, Robyn Ioanna Zelewa Giannopoulou, who had been adopted in 1958 by an American couple from Texas, received the Greek passport after three years of efforts and talked about it on the show “Our Global Voice” with Petros Diplas and Dimitris Kontogiannis.
Robyn, born Ioanna Giannopoulou, talked about how hard it was, despite having all the papers, such as adoption papers, birth certificate, death certificates of her biological parents, to get the Greek identity card and passport. Also, she did not fail to urge the other adopted children of the post-war decades who do not have all the papers but were born in Greece to Greek parents not to give up, to have faith, humor for what they will face and not to get angry because they will delay the process.
