Stavros Siokos, Managing Partner and Co-founder at ‘Astarte Capital Partners’, a London-based real assets management firm focused on sustainable real asset sectors, with a presence in Sydney and Toronto, was a guest on this episode of “Our Global Voice” with Petros Diplas and Dimitris Kontogiannis.
Mr. Siokos talked about his personal journey and about how the fight against climate change can be combined with the cultivation of trees, bring high returns to investors.
Mr. Siokos, who went for postgraduate studies in the USA and was hired by the American investment bank Salomon Brothers for a code he had written in the 1990s, was eager to become its newest managing director and follow a brilliant professional career, which culminated with the creation of Astarte in the previous decade. For him, growing trees is the best technology against climate change.
Astarte Capital Partners Group has cultivated 10 million trees on 1 million acres in Lat. America and elsewhere, helping to absorb around 20m tCO2 of carbon emissions, an amount equivalent to the emissions of all the cars in London for 2-3 years.
