As part of the celebration of World Radio Day, the show “Take Your Time” featured a tribute to radio theater. The program played excerpts from three historical radio plays recorded at the studios of Public Radio:
- The Lady of the House by Tsiforos and Vassileiadis, directed by Thanasis Papageorgiou, featuring Lida Protopsalti and Giorgos Geogleris (1995).
- Romance by Edward Sheldon, performed by Dimitris Horn and Vasso Manolidou in a 1955 radio adaptation directed by Mitsos Lygizos.
- Peg O’ My Heart by John Hartley Manners, with Elli Lambeti, Mary Lalopoulou, Giorgos Michalakopoulos, and Giorgos Metsolis, in a production directed by Giorgos Giannisis.
In addition, Thanasis Papageorgiou, the “soul” of the historic Stoa theater, gave an interview to Prokopis Agelopoulos, sharing his views on radio theater and his own experiences. He expressed his support for the revival of radio theater, suggesting that it should be approached in a proper and organized manner, with works suitable for radio, along with the establishment of radio theatrical rehearsals for better actor preparation.
