Listen to the October 28 special anniversary episode of the show ”Take your Time”. We are joined by Mr. Menelaos Charalambidis, PhD in History from the University of Athens, with whom we tried to delve into the messages and symbolism of the day and how it is reflected in life today. We have a phone-in from Kalpaki, where ERT correspondent Vasilis Siomos reports on the celebration of the anniversary, which took place again this year with a display of grandeur. From Australia, SBS Greek Program Director, Themis Kallos, speaks about the events in the Greek Diaspora, Melbourne, and Sydney. Elena Apostolidou, ERT reporter in Thessaloniki, relays the vibrancy of the celebration in Thessaloniki, while at the military parade, shortly after it begins. Ilias Koukos does the same from Athens and the student parade in progress. The broadcasting program closes off, in its second part, with Mr. Panagiotis Matlis, President of the Greek Community in Berlin, and Yiannis Korinthios, former professor at the University of Calabria who speaks from Tinos where he is for the presentation of the book “Naples and Greek Paligenesia 1821-2021”. Last but not least, Mrs. Christina Tsardikou, from Buenos Aires, President of the Hellenic Cultural Organization of South America “Nostos”, speaks about the way in which the anniversary of the “NO” is celebrated by the Greeks in Argentina and how they perceive Greece’s contribution to the World Community during the struggle given against the Axis powers by the second and third generation Greek children and their Argentine friends.
