On today’s episode of Take Your Time with Prokopis Agelopoulos, Ursula Vryzaki, the Artistic Director of the Greek-German Choir “Polyphonia” in Berlin, was hosted in anticipation of their concert on March 8, International Women’s Day, at the Trinitatis Church at 20:30 Greece time.
The concert will highlight Greek female musical creation, featuring songs by iconic Greek women who have made significant contributions to the country’s music scene. The choir will take the audience on a journey, from “Alexandria” by Evantia Rempoutsika to “Kythira” by Eleni Karaindrou. Also on the program are “Rosa Rosalia” by Lena Platonos and “Fata Morgana” by Mariza Koch.
Notable musical works from Dimitra Galani, Arleta, Haroula Alexiou, and Vasso Alagianni will be paired with the lyrics of Eftihia Papagiannopoulou and Lina Nikolakopoulou, culminating in the great “Potami” by Nena Venetzanou. The concert will also feature contemporary female musical creators like Maria Papageorgiou, Danae Papadopoulou, and Matoula Zamanis.
