Father Damianos, speaking from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he has served in Latin America for the past 18 years, discussed the path that first brought him from Greece to Mexico and later to Ecuador and Argentina.
In an interview on Voice of Greece Radio and the program “Our Global Voice” with Dimitris Kontogiannis, he spoke about younger members of the Greek diaspora, now in their third and fourth generations, the language through which he communicates with them, and the growing interest among many young Argentines in learning more about Greece and Orthodox Christianity.
He also outlined initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between the diaspora and Greece, including cultural events in Argentina that showcase Greek traditions and customs, as well as efforts to expand exchange opportunities by welcoming more young members of the diaspora to Greece and more visitors from Greece to Argentina.
