French chanson in Greek: Nikos Zartamopoulos on “Moving Worlds” | 10 Mar. 2026

The guest in the studio is Nikos Zartamopoulos, a man who dared to take on a unique challenge: to bring the spirit of the French chanson into the Greek language. With a deep love for chanson and a passion for translation, he adapts songs by Brassens, Gainsbourg, Moustaki and other great creators, giving them a second life — and a second “homeland.”

How can a song be translated without losing its soul? What happens when two cultures meet within a single verse?
And why do certain songs — about freedom, love, revolution or melancholy — seem to speak just as powerfully in every era?
At a time when democracy, freedom and the values of Europe are being tested, the program becomes a small cultural journey between two peoples who have shared ideas, struggles and songs.

Through seven distinctive adaptations — from the tender “Ponai Mama” to the reflective “Anonymous” — we explore what ultimately connects Greece and France: the power of the lyric, the memory of struggles and the need to sing about what cannot easily be contained in words.
