From Chafteia to Pedion tou Areos.
Athens is not always what we see — often, it is what we overlook.
In the program “Moving Worlds”, broadcast on Voice of Greece on Monday, 04 May 2026, with Katerina Batzaki, the city unfolded through a different kind of route: from Chafteia and Omonia Square to Patision Street, Pedion tou Areos and Fokionos Negri.
Inspired by the Athens Municipality Festival and its themed city walks, the program welcomed Dr Iordanis Papadopoulos, who approached the city not as a tour guide, but as a wanderer asking questions.
The conversation brought to light lesser-known historical and cultural dimensions of Athens, from Gladstonos Street and the National Technical University of Athens to Pedion tou Areos and the literary meeting places of the 20th century.
A program inviting listeners to rediscover the city — not in haste, but with attention and care.
