“Our Town” with Themis Rodamitis presents a tribute to Kyriakos Sfetsas, one of the most important contemporary Greek composers, highlighting key moments from his life and work—some of which will be heard for the first time.
His body of work spans a wide range of musical forms: symphonic, choral, and stage music (ballet, theatre), chamber music, electronic compositions, works for solo instruments, pieces in a jazz and fusion idiom, songs set to poetry by Greek and international poets, as well as film scores.
These and many other valuable insights into Kyriakos Sfetsas’ work are discussed in the studio by composer and PhD candidate at the Department of Music Studies Tilemachos Moussas, and composer and bassist Giorgos Palamiotis, both of whom collaborated closely with him, often opening new paths in Greek music.
