In the Friday edition of “Take Your Time”, 10 October 2025, we began with a warm greeting from Messolonghi and Dr. Grigoris Tsigas, Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University Hospital of Rio, Patras. He is the organizer of the Hellenic College of Cardiology Conference, featuring talks by distinguished Greek cardiologists and physicians, taking place from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 October. On Sunday, participants will cycle to the Tourlida Lagoon of Messolonghi, where local shop owners and the city’s commercial association will welcome them with traditional delicacies — a gesture highlighting the importance of exercise in protecting our hearts.
Next, we spoke by phone with Iasonas Apostolopoulos, human rights activist and rescuer, who shared his experience from the Global Sumud Flotilla mission to Gaza, and the efforts of international volunteers to bring relief to people suffering from poverty, war, and inequality.
In the second hour, author and translator Vasia Tzanakari joined us in the studio to discuss her latest book “Γεννιέται ο κόσμος” (A world is born), published by Kastaniotis editions.
Later, we welcomed Kleoniki Demiri, the acclaimed performer, recently returned from North Macedonia, where she appeared at the national opera in a concert marking 100 years since the birth of Mikis Theodorakis.
In the final part of the program, actress and singer Idra Kayne spoke with us about the opening of her new show “Nina Simone – 4 Octaves of Freedom” at the Mikros Kerameikos Theatre. Written by Sotiris Karamesinis, the play brings to life the moving story of the legendary jazz artist, starring Idra Kayne alongside Sasa Papalambrou, and will be staged every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
