On the Thursday edition of the programme, 13 November 2025, following the newspaper and online headlines, we spoke with Asimina Skondra, MP for Karditsa (New Democracy), on current affairs with a focus on agricultural and livestock issues. The discussion centred on OPEKEPE, the recent cases of sheep and goat pox, and pricing in primary production — factors that directly affect consumption.
In the second hour, the programme turned to energy matters, starting from last week’s developments regarding the agreement signed in Athens between the United States and DEPA on liquefied petroleum gas, as well as the ongoing hydrocarbon exploration in Greek waters. We also examined the state of renewable energy sources, which appear to have moved into the background following these latest developments. Our guests were Giannis Bassias, energy analyst and former President & CEO of the Hellenic Hydrocarbon Resources Management company, and Nikos Chrysogelos, Deputy Mayor of Athens for Climate Governance and Social Economy.
We concluded the programme by introducing Evgenia Mitrakas, a distinguished member of the Greek diaspora — a Melbourne-based lawyer who was recently honoured for her professional career as well as her contribution to the local community and the Greek-Australian population.
