Take Your Time with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 22 Jan. 2026

On Thursday, 22 January 2026, on the program “Take Your Time”, we asked Thodoros Tsikas, international relations expert and political scientist, to analyze recent developments following Donald Trump’s speech in Davos, as well as the European reaction to the demands voiced by the American president.

Immediately afterwards, Nana Papadogeorgaki, lawyer and accredited mediator, joined us in the Voice of Greece studio. Together, we discussed the latest developments regarding property foreclosures, prompted by the news that a court annulled the auction of a borrower’s home over a debt of just €12,000, despite the property being valued at €122,000. We examined the legal tools available to borrowers, the importance of being well informed, and the need for swift action when facing the threat of seizure.
We also spoke about the law passed in 2020, which provides for the lease-back of a foreclosed property to the person who loses it for a period of 12 years—a law expected to be implemented this year, six years after its adoption by the Hellenic Parliament. Further reference was made to borrowers who took out loans denominated in Swiss francs, as well as to the steps borrowers must take upon reaching the final stage of loan repayment, in order to complete the process, lift the pre-otation of mortgage, and secure full ownership of their property.

In the second hour, we connected live with the village of Myrtia, in the region of Heraklion, and spoke with Marilena Milathianaki, Director of the Nikos Kazantzakis Museum. Our discussion focused on a forthcoming meeting of four wine-tasting experts and 14 local wineries, taking place on Saturday, 24 January, with the aim of selecting a collectible wine to be bottled—one that will embody the four defining traits of Alexis Zorbas, the iconic hero of the great Cretan writer Nikos Kazantzakis.

Before the sports news, in the final part of the program, we spoke with Alexandros Romanos-Lizardos, ERT journalist and film critic, about the films that stood out in 2025, as well as the major favorites for the Academy Awards, with the nominations expected to be announced at any moment.
