In the Friday edition of the show, 24 October 2025 — following the news review and a look at the main headlines from the online and print press — we spoke with Dr. Elisavet Giannousi, pediatrician at the Rethymno Hospital and president of the Pancretan Pediatric Society, about the very serious issue of alcohol consumption among children and adolescents.
In the second hour, our guest was Antonis Sklavounos, principal of the 2nd Junior High School of Elliniko, who spoke about a remarkable school initiative: a group of third-grade students and two teachers will travel to Sikinos to celebrate the 28 October national holiday together with the island’s only five junior high school students — marching side by side in the parade.
Immediately after, we heard the interview given to Voice of Greece by Panagiotis Simandirakis, Mayor of Chania, recorded at the site of the Central Market, which is now in the final phase of restoration before being returned to the city’s merchants and residents.
We concluded with an interview with Michalis Papapetrou, Director of the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra and conductor of the ERT Choir, about the upcoming performance of “Bravo, Colonel” by Alekos Sakellarios and Dimitris Evangelidis, to be staged at the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera at the SNFCC — presented for the first time exactly as it premiered during the 1940–41 season, following extensive research in the ERT archives and other sources.
