On Saturday, 13 September 2025, the Voice of Greece program “Fair Winds and Following Seas – Saturday Shift” with Antonis Karagiannakis set sail with the winners of the Aegean Regatta 2025, the international offshore sailing race.
Winners of the three categories – Thanasis Baksevanis, skipper of Baximus (OFTH), Giorgos Avgerinos, skipper of Anateloussa Afroditi (NOTH), and Giannis Mitakidis, skipper of Dragon (NO Chios) – together with Marianna Douka, president of the Offshore Sailing Club of Lesvos, shared insights into the significance and unique character of this regatta, which has been held every year without interruption since 2001.
The Aegean Regatta has become an institution, a tradition of sailing through the waters and islands of the Archipelago. Each year, local communities warmly embrace the event – this year’s destinations were Lemnos, Agios Efstratios, and Lesvos – and by the end of every race, all participants come together as one crew.
Our guests also guided us into the world of sailing, unveiling its secrets and the “gifts” it offers to those who take up the sport, while sharing unforgettable stories and emotions from their voyages and adventures at sea.
