The talented singer, percussionist, and composer of partly Greek origin speaks about her diverse musical activities and presents her live album “Spiti – Home”, a musical work created across cultures, languages, and landscapes. Having grown up between Mykonos, Kautokeino in Lapland, and later Trondheim, Marianna Sangita reflects on the contrasts between a sunlit Mediterranean island and a Scandinavian city of the fjords.
Through her music, she has created her own “home”—a work that celebrates life, nature, love, friendship, and vulnerability. It forms a sonic tapestry of memories and landscapes, where the warmth of the Mediterranean meets the vastness of Scandinavia through pulsating rhythms and magical melodies. Special reference is also made to the Greek diaspora in Norway.
