Shipping analyst John Faraclas—a lecturer on maritime affairs at educational institutions and organizations abroad, particularly in the United Kingdom, member of the Chios Marine Club of the Hellenic Engineers Society of Great Britain (HESGB), author and co-founder of All About Shipping—spoke on the program “Fair Winds and Following Seas.” He discussed the situation unfolding in the Middle East, which has been in turmoil since Saturday, with the United States and Israel striking Tehran, while Iran has responded with targeted strikes against Qatar and Dubai.
Mr. Faraclas also analyzed the situation in Cyprus, including the assistance it has received from aerial assets and naval vessels from Greece, France and the United Kingdom.
“Above all, the safety of our seafarers and our ships comes first,” he noted.
