Elizabeth Filippouli from London was a guest on the Monday, January 30th episode of the broadcasting program “Faraway words” with Natasa Vissarionos. The social entrepreneur and philanthropist spoke about the production of the play “Alexander the Great: Between Dreams and Imagination”, which will be presented at the British Library in London (February 2,3,4) in the form of staged reading.
As she said, this is a production that brings together internationally renowned artists: The music is by Stamatis Spanoudakis. Aristotle is portrayed by award-winning British actor Peter Marinker, Alexander the Great is played by Welsh actor Jack Parry-Jones, known from The Crown and Moon Dogs. The digital stage direction is by renowned British artist Paul Benny, the direction by Di Sherlock, while the adaptation and production is by Elizabeth Filippouli.
“The Alexander the Great we present here discovers that what gave the greatest value to his life was the wealth of knowledge and the diversity of the cultures he encountered. This adaptation challenges us to redefine the idea of greatness,” said Elizabeth Filippouli.
It is worth noting that the performance is based on a modern epic poem by acclaimed journalist and writer Stamatis Filippoulis.
