Sophia Slaftsaki, who left Greece during the financial crisis and is now an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Greek Community of Paris and Surroundings, spoke about the event held at the “Hellenic House” in the City of Light. The event focused on bilingualism in the Greek Diaspora as part of the World Greek Language Day celebrations. She joined Dimitris Kontogiannis on Voice of Greece’s radio show “Our Global Voice”.
Asked about her journey, Ms. Slaftsaki shared her personal story of moving to the French capital over a decade ago for work. She then spoke about the community event, which centered on preserving and teaching the Greek language within bilingual contexts, drawing a large audience.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Greek Embassy in Paris, featuring key speakers Niki Papailiaki, Katerina Premeti, and Virginia Papadopoulou, while Consul of Greece, Mr. Kontos, delivered an opening address.
