On the Thursday, November 7, 2024 show, after covering current events, we spoke with Mr. Dionysis Temponeras, a member of SYRIZA–Progressive Alliance, about developments ahead of the party congress. Temponeras expressed a strong view that SYRIZA is on a path toward disintegration, showing indifference to the outcomes of the congress or the potential candidacy of Stefanos Kasselakis, while emphasizing the need for forming a broad progressive front.
Next, we discussed the recent U.S. developments, particularly Trump’s election and its impact on international politics and diplomacy, with international relations expert Dimitris Tzanidakis.
In the second hour, Ivana Djordjevic provided updates on additional international developments.
Professor of Political Economy at EKPA, Napoleon Maravegias, explained the economic implications of Trump’s election, especially for Europe, and highlighted the steps European Union leaders should consider to navigate potential challenges if Trump’s policies lean toward American economic isolationism.
In the final segment, we welcomed to the studio Stavros Argyriadis, a chemical engineer and member of the Greek diaspora in Germany, who is in Greece to present his book In Search of Identity – Choice or Historical Heritage, published by Akakia Editions. We discussed both the intriguing themes of the book, which explores historical events through a novel-like narrative, and Argyriadis’s life in Germany along with the current sociopolitical climate there.
The program concluded with sports news from Antigoni Drakatou.
