On Friday’s show, December 8, 2023, following commentary on current affairs and newspaper headlines, we speak with Journalist and Analyst Giorgos Kapopoulos about Erdogan’s visit to Athens, its aftermath and whether and to what extent this inaugurates a new era in Greek-Turkish relations. Immediately afterwards, Avgi newspaper Journalist Spyros Gkoutzanis also makes a comment on the Turkish president’s visit but, mainly, talks about what was happening in SYRIZA after the departures of the 6+6 group and the creation of the new political organization named New Left. In the second hour, we go on a telephone connection to the area outside the Ministry of Health from where ERT reporter Mary Skandali informs us about the mobilization of the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospitals Workers (POEDIN). Immediately afterwards, we engage in a conversation about major environmental crimes, the tightening of penalties for those recently voted by the European Parliament, and the term Ecocide that environmental professionals from all around the world seek to establish as a legal term. Our interlocutor on all these issues is Mr. Iosif Botetzagias, Professor at the Department of Environment, University of the Aegean.
