In the Friday show on September 20, 2024, we “traveled” to Eresos, Lesvos, to speak with ERT correspondent Myrsini Tzineli about the Women’s Festival, a tradition that celebrates its 24th year this year. Right after the headlines, we discussed the political news with Adamo Zachariadis, director of the website ethnos.gr. The first hour concluded with international news presented by Ivana Georgievits.
In the second hour, we connected with distant Australia and Melbourne, conversing with a representative of the expatriate Greek community who has been living and working far from her homeland for 52 years. Our communication with Ms. Katerina Paziou was prompted by a letter she sent regarding her hometown of Kozani, in which she reflected on the decades she spent away from her land, reminiscing about her early years since 1972 and sharing with emotion that she had very few opportunities to visit Greece, managing to do so for the first time in 2007, 35 years after her migration.
Next, Vasilis Rouvalis, a writer and member of the organizing committee for the 10th Athens Poetry Festival, which will take place from September 23 to 26, spoke about the event. The sports news took center stage in the final part of the show, with Antigoni Drakatou in the studio.
