On the Thursday show, September 26, 2024, we hosted the new Secretary General for Diaspora Hellenism and International Diplomacy, Maira Myrogianni. We discussed her priorities regarding the relations of the Diaspora with Metropolitan Greece, her impressions from her initial contacts with Greek Communities abroad, and the relationship between Voice of Greece and the Secretariat for Diaspora Hellenism over time. These relationships aim to provide as many answers as possible to the problems faced by Greeks in the Diaspora through mutual communication and support.
In the second part of the show, we addressed the international institution “Vexillum Giuseppe Sciacca,” which awards individuals who contribute to the common good. The ceremony will take place at the Vatican on Saturday, September 28. We spoke about this with Ms. Vicky Bafatakis, a communication expert and General Secretary of Academic Research in Bioethics at the University of Athens, who represents the institution, and with Mr. Stylianos Antonarakis, a Greek Professor of Human Genetics at the University of Geneva. He has dedicated his life to decoding the human genome and has provided hope for the elimination of Down syndrome in the coming years through his work.
In the final half-hour, we discussed current political events, mainly focusing on the aftermath of the debate among the candidates for the leadership of PASOK-KINAL, featuring an interview with one of the two journalists from Public Television who moderated it, Apostolos Maggiriadis.
