Giorgos Serafeim, who immigrated to Winnipeg with his family in 2019, referred to the efforts of the Greek Community in Winnipeg in the province of Manitoba in Canada to help Greeks who would like to immigrate there, speaking on Voice of Greece Radio and the show “Our Global Voice” with Petros Diplas and Dimitris Kontogiannis.
Mr. Serafeim, who is a member of the GCM Board of Directors and responsible for this program, stressed that the Greek Community is an institutional partner of the local government in Manitoba’s migration program. He also compared the education systems of Canada and Greece based on the experience of his three children and what he has found as a new immigrant during his time in Winnipeg, calling the Canadian one far superior. In Greece, he stressed, we were paying a lot of money for our children’s tutoring and we were driving them all day back and forth, but this is not the case in Winnipeg where bullying in schools is unknown.
