Anastasios Tamis, researcher and professor of Diaspora History, continued his series on prominent Greeks of the diaspora, speaking about the life and contribution of the late Nikolaos Tsoulias and his son Konstantinos Tsoulias to the Greek community of Canberra and Australia more broadly, on Voice of Greece Radio and the program “Our Global Voice” with Dimitris Kontogiannis.
Mr. Tamis noted that the late Nikolaos Tsoulias, together with a small group, played a leading role in the construction of the Church of St. Nicholas in Canberra, as well as in the founding and funding of the Greek Club, which today counts 68,000 members—400 of them Greek—making it the largest Greek diaspora club in the world. The Greek Club has built and operates a large complex that includes a museum, two restaurants, a traditional café for Greeks, and other facilities, located just two kilometers from the Federal Parliament of Australia in the capital, Canberra.
