“Faraway Words” with Natasa Vissarionos

On December 14, 2022, the broadcasting program “Faraway words” traveled to the theatrical metropolis, the city of London, where Lydia Vie, Greek director, writer, and actress, spoke to Natasa Vissarionos and Giannis Stelios Tzirvelakis about her new theatrical performance, “Heartbreak Hotel”, a hotel in… the other life, with the sole purpose of healing broken hearts. The award-winning Lydia Vie spoke about the inspiration, the writing, the symbolism, and finally the transfer to the stage of her play, written during the pandemic.
Professor Vasilis Kolonas was also a guest on the episode, on the occasion of the updated, third edition of his book “Thessaloniki outside the walls: iconography of the District of Exoches (1885-1912)”, published by University Studio Press. Mr. Kolonas spoke about the history of architecture in the neighborhood of his childhood, about the building that was the inspiration for this in-depth study, about the reasons for the creation of the District of the Exoches, about the people who lived there, about the multiculturalism and diversity that these buildings exude, and about the architecture of the area, which is a key way to interpret the history of the area, the first expansion of Thessaloniki outside the walls.
