Seta Theodoridou from Paris on “Our Global Voice” | 07 Apr. 2026

Seta Theodoridou, President of the Greek Community of Paris and Surrounding Areas, spoke about the recent visit of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to the French capital, where he was inducted as a foreign member of the Académie Française, taking the seat of the late Pope Benedict. She also described how Greeks in Paris experience Holy Week, speaking on Voice of Greece radio and the programme “Our Global Voice” with Dimitris Kontogiannis.

Ms Theodoridou added that during his visit to Paris, Patriarch Bartholomew bestowed the title of Archon of the Church upon three Greeks and one Orthodox French citizen during the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy held at the Cathedral of Saint Stephen. She also referred to the events marking the celebration of 25 March, which included the customary wreath-laying ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe and the playing of the Greek national anthem, among other activities.
