On the Thursday broadcast of 07 August 2025, we opened with a live connection to Chalki and greeted the day by speaking with the island’s mayor, Angelos Fragkakis, about tourism activity, ferry connections, and the cost of vacationing on the island.
After going through the headlines from the newspapers and the internet, we spoke with Mr. Themis Bakas, president of the e-Real Estate network, about the major issue of student housing and the rising cost of accommodation more broadly.
In the second hour, we addressed key questions regarding the proper use and maintenance of air conditioners, which have become an essential part of everyday life both in summer and winter. Our guest was Achilleas Georgantzas, president of the Hellenic Union of Refrigeration Technicians.
Finally, we connected with Heraklion, Crete, where we met theatre educator, playwright, and director Valentina Papadimitraki. She spoke to us about the successful theatre production “The Shadow of the Fly” by The Shoe Theatre on the Tree, which will return to the foyer of the Rextifien Theatre in the new year.
