On Thursday’s edition of “Take Your Time”, we sought to unpack— with the help of Efstathios Lianos Liantis, Associate Professor of the Geopolitics of Religion and Religious Diplomacy—developments surrounding Russia’s unprecedented attack on Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, following the granting of autocephaly to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
After the newspaper headlines, journalist and analyst Tasos Pappas of Efimerida ton Syntakton commented on current affairs, both international and domestic. The first hour concluded with Ivana Djordjevic bringing the international news.
At the start of the second hour, we followed the official reception of the new, state-of-the-art frigate Kimon, as it joined the fleet of the Hellenic Navy, during an event held in Faliro Bay. We then turned to the farmers’ mobilizations and the upcoming meeting between the Coordinating Committee of farmers and the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office in Athens, speaking with ERT’s Thessaly correspondent Vangelis Mitrousias.
Shortly before the close of the program, we connected with Germany, where Greek expatriate musician Eleanna Pitsikaki, known for her deep connection with the qanun, spoke about the major success of her album Aroma. The album is already shortlisted for the German Record Critics’ Award and ranks among the top preferences of jazz audiences, holding a top-three position within the Europe Jazz Network.
The program concluded with sports news presented by Antigoni Drakatou.
