The program “Take Your Time”, hosted by Prokopis Agelopoulos, welcomed to the studio today writer Valentina Papadimitraki, actress Sofia Liakou, and actor–director Tasos Katrakylas.
The occasion was the theatrical work “The Shadow of the Fly” by Valentina Papadimitraki, produced by The Shoe Theatre on the Tree. Following a successful run in cafés across Piraeus, in collaboration with the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, the performance returns to Athens for a limited number of shows — this time at Rectifier – Centre for Research of Mixed Performing Arts in Kerameikos. In March, it will travel to Switzerland, where it will be presented by Terrasse Ensemble in selected venues in Zurich and Baden.
The story unfolds as follows: the heroine is preparing for a journey. She comes down to the café with her suitcase, where she meets the audience. Her apartment, located in the same building, is ready to welcome the Italian tourists who have rented it through a short-term rental platform. This is how she lives. This is how she has organized her life. Tourists, them? A tourist herself, too.
For its new cycle of performances, “The Shadow of the Fly” moves to the foyer of a theatre space, where spectators gather before the experience of a performance — much like someone standing on the threshold of a decision. This open, immediate, and emotionally charged setting preserves the intimate contact with the audience, who in turn remain directly connected to the actors.
