Shipping analyst John Faraclas — lecturer on maritime affairs at educational institutions and organizations abroad, particularly in the United Kingdom; member of the Chios Marine Club and HESGB; author and co-founder of allaboutshipping.co.uk — spoke on the program “Fair Winds.”
Mr. Faraclas presented extensive data on this year’s 7th consecutive global women’s voting initiative in shipping, organized by allaboutshipping.co.uk. The theme and title of the vote was “Top Woman in Shipping for 2025.” The list includes 100 women who were voted for by the global maritime cluster in recognition of their outstanding performance.
For the first time this year, women were also voted in 19 different individual categories. According to Mr. Faraclas, a total of 4,000 email votes were received, as the process was conducted electronically from 01–15 February 2026, while 2,500 votes were deemed invalid.
The overall winner was British national Zoe Upson, while many Greek women stood out both in the general vote and in the individual categories.
