Five young Diaspora Greeks from the 2nd Greek Youth Diaspora Symposium on “Our Global Voice” | 27.11.2025

Diaspora youth Elisa Bruni from Italy, Dimitra Konstanti from Germany, Amanda Thomas from Canada, Melina Mygdalis from Argentina, and Emily Pandis from the United States—participants in the 2nd Greek Youth Diaspora Symposium, organized in Athens by the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs—spoke on Voice of Greece, on the program “Our Global Voice” with Dimitris Kontogiannis. They shared stories about their families, their impressions of the Symposium, and sent their holiday wishes to listeners.

Elisa Bruni, whose father is Italian and mother Greek, is a graduate of Modern Greek Studies and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Linguistics. She is particularly interested in the Greek-speaking villages of Southern Italy.

Dimitra Konstanti, a private-sector employee, is a fourth-generation Greek in Dortmund, where a large Greek community thrives—one in which she and her family are very active.

Amanda Thomas, born to Greek parents in Montreal, Canada, holds a BA in Commerce and a master’s degree in Public Health. She currently works in the office of a Canadian MP, and during her student years served as president of the Greek Students’ Association at McGill University.

Melina Mygdalis, a lawyer from Buenos Aires, is the daughter of Greek parents who were also born in Argentina.

Emily Pandis, whose mother is American from Ohio, works in the technology sector.

The 2nd Greek Youth Diaspora Symposium began on 25 November and concludes on 28 November. The General Secretary for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, Ms. Maira Myrogianni, is the driving force behind the Symposium.
