Chief Engineer Antonis Kasimis from Piraeus speaks on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” and Voice of Greece.
He hails from Mani and comes from a seafaring family. From a very young age, he was at his father’s machine shop, learning the secrets of engines and ships. After graduating from the School of Marine Engineers, he embarked on his first voyage on Christmas Eve 1967, sailing from La Spezia, Italy, aboard the tanker M/V DESERT CHIF.
Serving in all engineering ranks, Antonis Kasimis continued to sail the seas until 2014.
