On the program aired on Thursday, October 31, 2024, we initially discussed the developments in Spain regarding the deadly floods and connected with our correspondent in Spain, Dora Makri, for updates. The remainder of the show focused on consumer issues, food types, and agricultural production.

Mr. Manolis Giannoulis, president of the National Interprofessional Olive Oil Organization, informed us about this year’s production and price forecasts for olive oil on store shelves. Following that, Secretary General of Commerce and Consumer Protection, Sotiris Anagnostopoulos, answered questions regarding an agreement to reduce prices at supermarkets for 362 product codes.

In the second hour, Professor of Chemistry and Food Toxicology at the University of Western Attica, Konstantinos Sfllomos, explained the situation regarding mercury levels found in tuna cans exceeding permissible limits.

In the final segment of the program, before the sports update with Antigoni Drakatou, Dr. Panagiotis Kyriakopoulos, a postdoctoral researcher at the Enterprise Research Centre of Warwick Business School, joined us in the studio of Voice of Greece to discuss his research on innovative applications in agricultural crops that could significantly improve production conditions and, consequently, the professional prospects of young people in rural Greece.
