From The Fat Duck and Heston Blumenthal to Amyntaio, Central Greece, and Messinia, “The Sweet Life” took listeners on a journey.
Sommelier Konstantinos Katridis spoke to us about The Fat Duck, the history of a restaurant that helped shape modern gastronomy, Heston Blumenthal’s philosophy, the role of wine in fine dining, and the differences between Athens and London.
The program also traveled to Amyntaio, where Alpha Estate has earned major international recognition. It was named Winery of the Year and Red Wine Producer of the Year at the USA Wine Ratings 2026, with 13 of its wines receiving awards.
Our final destination was Messinia. Kostas Tsoronis, head of agri-food initiatives at the Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation, presented the program for the 4th Messinia Terroirs Wine Festival and discussed efforts in recent years to revive and promote Messinia’s vineyards.
